So today Dr Rick's Tree Service learned that a burn permit in Bradley County Tennessee is only good until 4 p.m. in the afternoon in The Burning Season, with a burn permit of course.
This job started with only being hired 2 drop a tree. Instead, my customer was being outrageously charged to have a mobile home and a 100 year old barn taken down and removed. We did all the work that they were going to charge for a fraction of the price because we were able to burn the debris and not have to have the expense of hauling it anyway.
Well, a very much respected Air Pollution Control Detective showed up at 4:45 p.m. and ended our day with the exciting news that we did not have to put the fire out! Thank goodness for the fire department and their tactics 2 train volunteers to scout for fires with burn permits that are still burning
after 4 p.m. because they know, even though the volunteers don't get paid for their service as volunteers. The fire departments still charges homeowners and companies like mine 2 pay the bill? Is that right? Accordingly, I just go ahead and agree because I'm not going to argue, they are right and respectable!
However, with all the trainees there it was great to see my tax dollars at work! There were 4 fire trucks and about 12 people to put out a controlled fire! Unfortunately, now we have a summons to go to court because they want to charge the homeowner for what they had to do to put out the fire when we were already planning when they showed up.
None the less, I respect and appreciate all firefighters as they risk their lives in their jobs just as I and my employees!
