Friends, it's that time of year to start cutting back on our perennials!
Remember! To cut your lavender so it doesn't become a woody monster! And if it has, cut above the woody stems.
Some of our really hybridized perennials require so much pruning, I called quits on them!

I feel like I've been downplaying my accomplishments again.
I just updated my Project Portfolio and WOW! I've done so much in 2 years!!!! 3D rendering in Revit and SketchUp, Graduated with AS in Landscape Design Technology with a GPA of 4.0, I took 17 units and had surgery where I couldn't walk for 2 weeks. You know what I kick A$$!

Frog hotel is a success! Sometimes you see stuff on social media and don't believe it! Then nature proves it works.

The pot doesn't have a whole, inverted pipes and some rocks. The goal is to add some aquatic plants. But the frogs seem to like it.

No to figure out collecting rent ;)

New flower design! Does this one make you think of any specific flowers?

I am slowly letting go that they must be botanically correct. It's so fun to let nature be my inspiration vs. mimicking;)

Remember to test your irrigation system... winter, life happens.
I recommend running each station for 5 minutes and walk around checking for obvious leaks. Then letting each station run for 20-30 minutes and look for puddling. Sometimes those leaks are under the mulch and aren't obvious. It can also be helpful to have a start time that corresponds when you can notice if something is wrong.

This sticky w**d is no fun in the garden. It can best managed by manual removal, sigh. It was stuck to my glove this past week working in a client's garden. But we caught it before it bloomed and went to seed ;)

If you want butterflies, that means having caterpillars!
Before becoming knowledgeable in ecosystem gardening, caterpillars were a threat! Something to be killed. Now, when I find an insect I don't know, I take time to educate myself on species.

Is it invasive or native?
What does it eat?

Learning takes time, but it also means there's less pests in my garden with no extra work from my hands ;)
