Record heat is here with more to come. Open you house at night and in the morning. Turn on your air conditioning early to cool your house before 4:00 for PGE and 5:00 for SMUD customers. It is easy to keep your house cool than make it cool. Watch out for the change out specialist. Most systems can be repaired for less.

With the weather warming up it is time to run you air conditioning for 5 mins. Check to see your outside unit running with fan motor on. Change your filter. If you need repairs or service it will not be an emergency. Supplies are limited and repairs can be delayed during the hot summer.

If you are in a high smoke area then running your fan in the "on" position will continue the fan regardless of a call for heat or more so cooling this time of year. If you can find a filter with charcoal it with help with the smoke too. If you have a smart vent be sure it is "off" during high smoke times.

Stay positive, smile often, take it one day at a time until it clears.

Many shortages of HVAC equipment is forecasted for this year. We have already had 2 price increases. Hang on to your hats it going to be a hot summer. Don't panic and change your filter.

As you change your air filter this spring look into a Merv 13 value to capture airborne particles. By doing this you need to change them more often as well. Breath well my friends

With the high winds and dry air, allergies are acting up. Change or wash you filters to maximize your systems air cleaning. If you have a bag for you vacuum cleaner change that too. It is also a good time to turn your cooling for about 5 minutes to check operation and keep the system lubricated on a day when it is over 60 degrees, If you are in need of service you will not likely to have problems obtaining parts.

It was 24 years ago today that I opened the doors to EVCO heat & A/C. I am blessed and very grateful to be able to live the dream of owning my own business. It is my customers who have had the faith to put trust in my to handle their hvac needs. With all my heart THANK YOU to all that have made this possible for this to happen.

I followed a company who would come out for $79.00. They told the lady the repair would be $850.00. We charged $150.00 but the total cost for the same job is $600.00. Now you know why they come out so cheap. In general, the cheaper they are to come out the more they charge in the end. So truly which is the better deal?
