And so it begins….

It’s been a while! I am glad to say I am back and that I have not given up on gardening 👩🏾‍🌾 Things have been changing around the house and I will be trying to make more content surrounding my gardening adventures 😌 Starting with a podcast!

is the podcast that I run with my boyfriend. On it, I will be talking about gardening, and I will try to edit down segments so that I upload my garden talks to this account. If you’re interested, please tune in!

🥬Cabbage Harvest🥬

Another goal for this year, accomplished! ✅

I just harvested my cabbage after eagerly watching as they grew for months! Last year, my cabbage only grew to about the size of a baseball 🤧 But this year, I actually grew some pretty large (for me, at least) heads and I’m so excited to show it!

I planted 9, but got 8 out of them. The one I lost kinda took one for the team, he was eaten by bugs. He will be remembered 🫡

We made some tasty spring rolls and are now making pickled cabbage and some kimchi because kimchi rice? Omg if you haven’t had it, you should definitely try it 🤤

My first variety harvest of the season! Partner told me he wanted a salad 🥗 with dinner, so I got the things for a salad with dinner! Can’t wait until I have tomatoes 🍅 to add with the other things!

Also peep 👀 those ugly, skinny carrots 🥕 that still look better and are bigger than last year’s! Am I proud of those teeny things? Yes, yes I am.

🥬Harvested Spinach🥬

One of my favorite healthy additions to any meal is spinach! I grew soooo much this year because last year I hadn’t successfully grown much (only three very unhealthy plants).

Along with this harvest, I also planted my corn, artichoke, eggplant, okra, more spinach, sorrel, bok choy, transplanted a lot of my tomato plants, and weeded the garden! So much work in one day! Definitely proud of myself and going to be feeling it all day today 😅

🌻🌸🌼Spring is Here🌼🌸🌻

These were all the wildflowers that I picked from my own backyard! After the crazy rainstorm we got, it seemed like everything popped back to life the next day! My lettuce and cabbage grew inches overnight! I’m so excited to start planting things in this next coming week 🪴

🐝In honor of being here, I made a Honeycomb Cake!🐝

I got this recipe from and I must say, this was certainly one of the best cakes I’ve had in a while!

It’s like a sponge, soaking up the honey glaze sauce, but still dense and flavourful enough that the glaze isn’t the only thing keeping the cake going!

Next time, I’m definitely going to make the whiskey sauce though! I’m thinking Honey Jack? 😁
