The Land

The Land The Land is a local and family owned tree nursery specializing in flowering and ornamental tree varieties. We will also be growing trees in fabric grow bags.

We began growing trees in the spring of 2015 and are happy to announce that many of our trees have matured and are ready for sale. Our background affords us years of experience in tree and plant materials. Bob Kernan is a Registered Landscape Architect with a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and 16 years of experience. His brother, James Kernan works as an Engineer and has a Master’s de

gree in Landscape Architecture. Their cousin, Eric Enos is a school teacher who also has years of experience in the construction trade. Our love for trees prompted us to cultivate our 32 acre family property, located in Oriskany, N.Y. Our focus is on 1 to 2 inch diameter specimen trees that come in 15 to 20 gallon containers. These bags allow for a much healthier and larger tree through a process referred to as air root pruning, whereby the fabric of the bags themselves prevent root girdling and pot bound trees and allow for a more fibrous root system. This enhanced root surface area provides greater water and nutrient absorption which allows the tree to experience less transplant shock and grow quicker. This spring we will have over 100 trees with 11 different species available. Please contact us for more information or to schedule an appointment to visit our nursery.
