Sometimes crossing one item off your to-do list means adding another, which can be overwhelming and discouraging. Let us help! This client needed to have some plumbing work completed, which required the plumber to remove the tongue and groove ceiling to gain access to the pipes between the first and second stories. However, the plumber wasn’t able to reinstall the ceiling (or in some cases, they are able to reinstall, but it isn’t cost effective to pay a high hourly plumber rate for them to do a small handyman type task). That’s where we come in! After the plumber finished up, we had a handyman lined up to reinstall the ceiling and trim. Good as new! We were so happy to help these clients with a successful move! They were already at their new home in another state, but needed some help moving the last belongings from the house to their storage unit, and fixing the house up to get ready to put it up for sale. To keep them from having to get on a plane, find somewhere to stay, and make all the arrangements themselves, we served as their eyes, ears, and boots on the ground to get all of those tasks completed, communicating with them every step of the way. It saved them a lot of headache and ultimately was more cost-effective for them as well!

The deck on this home for sale is ready for its new owner! When the inspection report came back and noted that the outer boards on this deck had started to sag over time, exposing the ends of the floor boards on the deck and causing water damage, the realtor immediately called Best Nest to get it repaired. We called out one of our vetted and quality carpenters, who replaced the damaged wood, detached the staircase, and readjusted the boards, lifting them so that the top edge of the outer board aligned with the floor board, and used a waterproof caulk to seal the gap, so that there would be no more water intrusion to the floor boards. He was able to secure them more tightly so that they won’t sag in the future. Then he reattached the stair case to the deck more securely as well. Now this deck has passed reinspection and is ready for closing! We’re breaking St. Patrick’s Day tradition at this client’s house and REMOVING all the green from it! Their house (especially the sides of the house on the second story), stone walls, and brick patio are now all cleaned up and free of built-up algae and mildew, just in time for their annual St. Patrick’s Day party! We love a good before and after! This deck revitalization project involved pressure cleaning the wood to remove mildew, replacing a few broken and rotted boards, and applying a deck stain to weatherize it and give it a fresh look. Rather than having to source, coordinate, and oversee all these vendors, our client made one call to Best Nest and everything was in motion.

The best part was that this all happened while the client was out of town. With regular photo updates, they were able to relax and be assured that their deck refurbishment was in good hands while Best Nest project managed everything from start to finish.
