Puerto Rico is hurting. The devastation is real, and for those who have never been through the damage of a hurricane, one cannot wrap hands around what these people are going through. There is very little relief from the loss of all things we take for granted. It's going take time and a major collective effort. The political mess that surrounds this in the media should awaken us to focus on grassroots assistance and action for all those in need.

Hurricane Maria’s barrage took out entire plantations and destroyed crops and livestock across the island. The storm knocked out about 80 percent of its crops.
