Yesterday I had my one-year bone marrow biopsy.

And today is National Leukemia Day.

I mean... the timing feels pretty damn special.

Cancer is weird. Surviving cancer is weird.

You're unbelievably grateful to be here, while also carrying around an experience that's really hard to explain to anyone who hasn't lived it.

I came across these words from about what someone who's had cancer wishes others understood, and so much of it hit home.

So I'm sharing them today for anyone who wants to understand this crazy, complicated, life-changing experience a little better.

One freaking year later. Still here. Still me. And VERY grateful for both.

May of 2025. I had no idea how much my life was about to change.

Leukemia became part of my vocabulary. Hospital rooms became familiar. My calendar went from clients and projects to treatments, appointments, and counting down the days to my bone marrow transplant.

There were days I was scared. Days I was exhausted. Days when getting home and back to the life I knew felt very far away.

And then, little by little, came the milestones. The transplant. Recovery. Coming home. Getting stronger. Seeing friends and family. Working again. Decorating again. Feeling more like me again. ❤️

So Blood Cancer Awareness Month is personal.

I’m incredibly grateful for how far I’ve come since then, and I’m thinking about everyone whose calendar has just been turned upside down the way mine was.

Keep going. I’m rooting like hell for you.

The best room transWHOREmations aren’t always about what you replace. Sometimes it’s about what you want to KEEP.

We worked with pieces they already loved and added just enough color, pattern, and whimsy to make the whole room feel fresh again.

Now that’s my kind of redWHOREation.

You’ve seen the living room… but every good transWHOREmation has an origin story.

A few months ago, I waved my Decor W***e wand over this dining room, and the magic didn’t stop there.

Now that the living room is finished too, seeing the two spaces together feels like the happily ever after they deserved.
