The Shed will not be opening in 2026.
30+ years after purchasing the property, it's time to slow down and bring it back to the hobby it started as. It's a tough decision to make, as it's been such a joy to operate. People have left comments like "This is the happiest place in Polk County," and "You bring joy to people when you do this." One mom that was shopping with her two young kids said "This is a happy place for us."
It's been my happy place too, along with Harley the cat and Bowie and Millie the dogs.
We will still be hanging out there, getting things cleaned up. And we'll undoubtedly have a few garage sales, selling everything from pots to greenhouses. So we'll still keep busy.
A special thanks to Julie and Mari for all of their help over the years. I couldn't have done it without you.
And finally, as one person commented, "You make an awful lot of women real happy."
I guess I'll take that.

Open for the 2025 season!
Inventory is less than previous years due to supply issues, mice and a less then helpful cat Harley.
So get here early for best selection!

Someone recently mentioned that last year was 30 years since we bought "The Shed." Long-time customers that remember the coffee cans and honor system from the early years may have recognized that we've been cutting back for the past few years. This year, we've cut back by 50% for many items. We also lost several items (a mouse ate many seedlings, Harley the cat dumped a flat of pepper seedlings, near-total failure of broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts crops) that will mean different-looking selection this year. But we still have many beautiful hanging baskets, geraniums, tomatoes, etc. Opening Wednesday May 7th.
