This is, a picture of the downstairs ceiling ( living room ) . This ceiling also had another drop ceiling , around 8 inches lower from sound tiles installed. ya know the kind from commercial office spaces.. :-) . The plan here is to remove the carboard tiles, and then build a coffered ceiling with some beams. Only real thing stopping this project is i have a tenant renting the lower . So, i have counted at least 3 different changes to this room during the houses exitance :-)

I am still so busy with projects I have not been able to get the upstairs kitchen area complete , I apologize for the long wait on new updates for the D- Mansion . I am also experiencing a lot of flack from the City of Oshkosh Building Inspectors in relation to the cupola re-install - ( you will notice a huge flat area on the roof where something like this once stood before ~1965 ) . Long story short- it did not collapse into the house , there was no structural fail for 80 years..it blew off in a storm and landed on pleasant street. This is the issue with the inspectors downtown.. they want full new bearing from cupola to basement causing huge interruption to tenants and to my restoration budget. Funny thing is, there is a picture of my house in the hallway on the second floor of the building permit office in the city hall building :) - Hey -if you want to promote a unfinished property as OSHKOSH ..you should be aware that it's not finished right ??????? or historically accurate ?????

Last area on the upper remodel is the Kitchen- countertops, mosiac tile, sink, drain , and faucet coming soon :) I apologize for the delay ..i have had some serious contractor bills recently.. :) and it gives me gray hairs..:)

I still can't believe I did this project..looking back I think it was therapeutic .. I had to decide what I wanted to with my life :) I did personally reach a milestone though, I knew I had way too many skills to give up on the field , and I just started up my own business ..When life gives you lemons, make lemonade !!!!!

Had a minor setback with the last coat of polyurethane on the main floor , it needs 1 more coat. Because of this event Yanko has been focusing in on other smaller tasks , staining base shoe, prepping pocket door, applying shoe , and general clean -up . NO more saw cutting upstairs and no shoes allowed anymore .

Really loving this old picture during the old stripped down phase of the upstairs renovations , at this point during the winter it was very scary knowing that all my upstairs plumbing could freeze.. and the fact that the O-town inspectors couldn't grasp load bearing techniques , and the house had NO headers originally. sarcastically .. this pic explains more about construction than most people will ever know imho. -Yanko G Dejanovich
