I've had several customers ask if my Sunshades are waterproof. The patterned fabric that I use is 100% polyester and is sprayed twice with KIWI Camp Dry. The spray makes it water resistant, NOT waterproof.

A customer had reached out to me about 2 years ago and asked if I would make a Sunshade out of some fabric they liked. The fabric they chose was Ripstop fabric which is a durable outdoor fabric that is resistant to rips and tears. This is a Waterproof 200D PU Coated Polyester Ripstop fabric that is treated with a polyurethane coating, which means the fabric is rated to have zero to low levels of impermeability.

I reached out this afternoon and asked how the Sunshade was holding up. My customer's response was, "Hi Kathy! Yes it’s holding up beautifully! We have used it a LOT for two seasons now and I think going into this third season we might spray it with a water shield spray just as a precaution. Thank you so much for your awesome work!" I am attaching photos of their beautiful set-up!😍 (Thank you for allowing me to share!!!)
