Well, well, well… JonBoy might’ve actually gotten his hands dirty today and broken a sweat! 🌱💪
I want to take a moment and give credit where credit is due.
A very special thanks to **Robin, Ron, Allen, and Brynn** for all the hours spent this winter and spring setting up for the season. Without your dedication, consistency, and understanding — there would be no season.
To all our customers who come in droves the moment it looks like spring might actually show up, and hang with us all the way through the season — thank you. Whatever brings you through our doors, we welcome you. Whether you’re here to shop the deals or shoot the sh*t, you’re welcome here. 🪴

Now, I was never going to address this because I thought it was silly from the start — and I never imagined I’d feel the need to explain this. But as we are now entering our **third season under the name Jon Boy’s Plant Paradise**, I want to explain something:
Our ownership did not change, and I did not sell this business. Sorry you are all stuck with me!
2018 seems like a lifetime ago, but that’s when we officially started calling the shots at this little slice of heaven. Through those years — **yes, including the COVID years** — I have owned, managed, ran, worked, grown, lived, and breathed what has become the biggest little greenhouse in our area. Our retail took off like a rocket ship and we’ve been figuring it out ever since. We made mistakes, made some more, corrected them, battled inflation — and every business owner reading this right now is nodding and saying *“heck yes, we did”* — and we are **still here**. We will continue to be here.
So while there may be changes ahead, they’re about finding what we do best, what works for us, and what resonates with our customers.

In **2023, I purchased Sunnyside Florist** in Owosso. As if that wasn’t enough, I thought it would be a great time to finally put a name out there that I’d had selected for the greenhouse for years — and do it all while learning an entirely new industry in the fresh floral business at the same time.
If you’d told me then that I’d still be explaining to people that I still run my own greenhouse, I would’ve thought you were nuts. Much of this confusion could have been avoided with a proper plan, a naming strategy, and a steady messaging campaign that made one thing crystal clear: *“We bought years ago — we did not sell.”*

So, we’re here to set the record straight — and you’ll be relieved to know:
✅ **Your gift cards still work.** Those plastic cards? All from our era of ownership.
✅ **Your loyalty points still work and never expire.** We started our loyalty program in 2019, and *never means never*. If you haven’t visited since then and you racked up points, walk in today and use them — as long as you’ve got 10 or more.
✅ **We are still doing BOGO Wave Petunia Basket Sales.** 🌸
✅ I look a little different after some weight loss — but I assure you the other half of me is over at Sunnyside trying to figure out the floral business. 😄

The reason I’ve never posted at length about any of this? Because honestly, it doesn’t bother me. A name is not why you shop with us.
You shop here for the great service. The quality plants. The deals. The atmosphere. You shop here for so many reasons — but you don’t shop here because we’re the Simpsons’ place, or because of what we’re called.
**You shop here because of what we are.**
And that hasn’t changed.
