After watching closely for almost two weeks, tonight was finally the night we got to see the Queen of Night’s big bloom at . While I’m not normally one to go out on a week day, it truly felt like the stars aligned to see this once in a year event.

I think one of the best parts was seeing the sheer amount of people who came out. There were people of all ages and demographics in awe of these blooms. The sense of community was incrediblly strong as everyone took turns seeing everything and making sure there was a spot at the table for everyone. One of the coolest things I saw was a young girl taking pictures on her iPad. It was such a reminder of our joy in preserving a moment and the importance of sparking interest and an appreciation of nature early. (Also side note: her pictures were coming out absolutely amazing)

I’m so grateful for such a fun date night and to have gotten to lay eyes on some of nature’s magic. 🪄 🌸
Thank you for all the exciting updates and for sharing such a cool experience with the community!

Truly getting to live my fairytale…

I am so over the moon to announce JP & I’s engagement and I cannot wait to see what this chapter will bring for us. He truly is my best friend and getting to live life by his side is an honor.

Little did I know this past weekend has been many months in the making. Careful planning with my family, job, and schedule. What I thought was a head shot photo shoot quickly turned into one of the best weekend of my life. It’s just a drop in the well of sweet, elaborate, and unforgettable things he’s planned for us. To be loved by JP is to be cherished and I’m forever grateful.

I can’t wait for what this chapter brings but for now I’m just so excited to get to live in right now!

April didn’t really shower a whole lot but we still managed to make it work 💪

Man has it been such a busy last few months for all the best reasons. The last time I was truly active on here I was at the start of my spring semester, fresh off a huge environmental set back, and honestly just burnt out. Everything that was a creative outlet felt like a burden and the garden suffered from it.

But in the time I’ve taken a break I’m so happy to report nothing but positive progress and growth. Some of the things I’ve been up to the last few months:

- I completely repotted and gutted the porch. All problem plants went bye bye and it felt good.
-I finished my second semester of fine art classes with straight A’s and am now taking a small break from school for apprenticeships and personal projects!
-We got all new furniture for the porch and rearranged it.
-Got some final details sorted for a very exciting summer, stay tuned 👀

It feels good to have free time again with the semester finished and it’s honestly shocking how much I missed our community and this lil space of the internet we’ve made for ourselves. I am beyond grateful for all the kind messages I got while away and during my crash out over the winter damage. We are so lucky to be apart of such a loving space and I’m especially thankful for the central Florida community.

I’m excited to share more of how the garden has changed, what my collection looks like now, and share some exciting projects. But for how just… hi I’m alive and I’m super excited to be active again!

What’s everyone been up too??? Pls I’ve had so much fomo what have I missed?? 💕

Out of all the plants that powered through the cold for me, I’m so relieved and thankful this Blue Clone really troopered on. 💙🦋

This is a Sansevieria Blue Clone that was gifted to me by none other than at last summer .

It was at that show I got the chance to meet and get to know Leslie and Nair the wonderful ladies behind this business. Getting to hear about the hard work put into helping Leslie chase her dreams and cultivate such a cool community is truly inspiring.

The beautiful thing about of plant community isn’t really the plants themselves, it’s the people who pour so much love and nurturing into everything they do. I’m thankful to have a piece of their hard work, passion, and love in my collection. I’ll also forever be grateful for the kindness they always shown me and my family.

This baby along with only about ten other plants from my collection were safely tucked inside while the freeze raged on. Only the most precious of my collection was able to make the cut.

Needless to say, this plant truly is so special to me and had opened a whole new world of plant interest and excitement along my journey. Watching each new leaf come in has been so rewarding and in the time I’ve had her she’s given me three new ones.

Alright enough sappy stuff… word on the street is they are having a purge sale on tomorrow at noon… I think you’d be kinda silly to miss that 👀

Simply here to match my nails to my plants… what’s new??? 💅🏽

I’m still adore this Stanley planter from and cannot believe we are coming up on a year of it being in my collection. This baby has officially toughed it out through all four Florida seasons (hot, super hot, wet hot, and well kind cold) and it’s held up amazing. Thought its not technically advertised as an outdoor planter I decided to take the risk when it I first got it. It’s stayed outdoors for the entirety that it’s been in my collection AND it’s been in pretty frequent direct sunlight. I don’t think you can ask for much more from a sturdy, cute pot like this.

I’m looking forward to upgrading a lot of my box store planters over the new year to more of these Stanley planters. I’ve got my eye on the ‘it’s not a phase’ or the ‘day breaker’ next…not sure yet so any input is appreciated🙂‍↕️🧐 in the meantime I like to separate the stand and planter to make sets and spread the aesthetic all around.

The last picture is what this Peperomia looked like when I first put her in this planter in February. I think it’s safe to say she’s been pretty happy this year.

Check out and to tempt you even more I’ve got a fun lil discount code for ya. Use ‘LAURENSFAERIEGARDEN10’ for a nice lil surprise at check out 🥰

These leaves are starting to look sexxyyyy. I got this Florida Ghost back in July and the leaves had absolutely no definition. It’s been so much fun watching the leaves slowly start to take that distinct shape. I think that’s why I prefer buying plants while they are itty bitty. Not only is it more affordable but It’s fun getting to watch them grow and enter new stages. Am I the only one?

Like most of the other philodendrons I have outside it’s been a pretty steady grower and hearty plant overall. Low maintenance but I definitely think it’s time to start using a fertilizer consistently. What works for you guys?

Botanicals of the Leu at night… and in a winter wonderland!

Okay okay I promise this is the last Dazzling nights post (maybe). I still just can’t believe how beautiful it all was. It’s always an amazing experience getting to see all of the Leu but seeing it at night is a completely different perspective. Suddenly all the small details you look over shine in the red, green and blue lights.

Have you ever been a botanical garden at night?

It made me feel so inspired to make fun content, I’ve miss that so much. I’m kinda feeling the post card theme and I have so many fun adventures I never posted about that I’d like to find a cool way to share. Thoughts? I made this collage on and it never fails to make me feel confident and so so excited to post. 💚❤️💚❤️

Here is what explore at night feels like ✨🌠✨🌌💫

JP surprised me with a date to Dazzling Nights at the Harry P. leu Gardens last weekend and we had such a good time. We spend 3 hours wandering the garden, taking cute pictures and I may or may have picked up a spiked hot chocolate while we were there 🙂‍↕️

The chandeliers and butterflies were some of my absolute favorite parts of it.

‘‘Twas a good night. 🖤✨

I think one of my reward for finishing finals week and getting straight A’s was this philodendron Whipple Way giving such a fresh new leaf. And she has ANOTHER one coming!! ✨

I picked this baby up from .botanicals greenhouse opening and she’s quickly become one of my absolute pride and joys. When I got her I saw this new leaf coming in but as the semester got busier and life.. well lifed. I can honestly say I missed most of the unfurling process. I was a little shocked to look out last week and see this pretty variegated leaf.

The pattern looks like a camo on the and I’m so so very excited to see what her next leaf is gonna look like. So far every single one has been unique, even the non variegated ones. I’ve definitely never seen anything like it, especially in my collection.

Her care has been so so easy and overall I would label this plant as hearty and super beginner friendly when experimenting with more rare varieties. 💚💕

What plants do you have that consistently give you a unique leaf? Inquiring minds want to know 🧐🫡
