🌱💚 We are absolutely blown away by the support today!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by the farm stand and shopped with us. You all pretty much bought us out within just 3–4 hours! 🤯

As a small family farm, seeing our community support locally grown produce means more than we can put into words. Every purchase helps us continue doing what we love and providing fresh, homegrown produce right here in our community.

Don’t worry—we have more growing every day and will continue stocking the stand as the season progresses! 🌽🥒🫑🍅

Thank you for supporting Growing with the Brannons and helping make our second season such a success already. We appreciate each and every one of you! ❤️🚜🌱

🌽 Sweet corn update! 🌽

Our corn patch is growing fast and looking beautiful! We planted this corn earlier this spring, and it’s exciting to watch it take off. Before long, we’ll be seeing ears and counting down the days until harvest.
One thing we did differently this year was plant our sweet corn in stages instead of all at once. That means we won’t have all of our corn ready at the same time, and hopefully we’ll be able to enjoy and share fresh sweet corn over a much longer period throughout the season! 🌽💚
There’s nothing quite like fresh-picked sweet corn grown right here in the sandy Palestine soil.
We’re thankful for the rain, sunshine, and all the support from our community as we continue growing for our family and for you!
Who’s ready for sweet corn season? 🙋‍♀️🌽

Shout out to our friends over at Chill Dudes Freeze Dried Candy and Stuff LLC for freeze-drying a bunch of herbs for us! 🌿

If you’ve ever dried herbs, you know there are a few different ways to preserve them. Freeze-drying has some major advantages over traditional dehydration. Because the herbs are frozen first and then the moisture is removed, they retain much more of their original color, flavor, aroma, and nutritional value.

With dehydration, heat is used to remove moisture, which can cause some of the natural oils, flavors, and nutrients to break down. Freeze-dried herbs tend to taste fresher, smell stronger, and rehydrate much better than dehydrated herbs.

Both methods are great for preserving your harvest, but if you’re looking to keep herbs as close to fresh as possible, freeze-drying is hard to beat! 🌱✨

Thanks again to Chill Dudes for helping us preserve part of our harvest! 🙌

Why do we use cardboard and 3–4 inches of mulch in our garden walkways? 🌱🍂

The cardboard helps block weeds and grass from growing up through the paths while also holding in moisture. Then we layer 3–4 inches of mulch on top to help keep everything neat, soft to walk on, and even better at suppressing weeds.

The best part? It all breaks down naturally over time and feeds the soil! ♻️🌿

By next spring, much of the cardboard and mulch will have started composting down. We’ll rake that rich organic matter into the garden beds where we plant, giving our plants healthier soil naturally. Then we’ll lay down fresh cardboard and mulch in the walkways again and repeat the process!

It’s a simple, affordable, low-waste way we build healthier soil year after year while keeping weeds under control naturally. 🤎🌾
