We completed a panel change and installed a transfer switch for an Ecoflow back up battery. An Ecoflow back up battery has all the advantages of a generator without the need for gas and oil. It can be charged off an outlet or with solar. This is a great a alternative and cheaper than a generator with a hook up. You can add more than one to power more of the house or to extend the use of the batteries during an outage. One battery can run for 5-6 hours depending on the load placed.

Yesterday I installed a 6-circuit manual transfer switch for a client to be hurricane ready. Remember the time to prepare for a hurricane is now with a generator not right before a storm hits. And always remember it is not safe for our power line crew to plug in your generator into the dryer outlet.

With today being the first day of hurricane season, I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone, now is the time to prepare. It is very dangerous to our power line workers when we plug our generators into the dryer outlet as this back feeds FPL and slows the process of restoring power. My husband is a licensed and insured electrician who would be happy to discuss safe options for hooking up a generator to your house. He has done many transfer switches and other options. He also can fix damage caused by storms such as damage to your mast from trees falling or winds.

Yesterday we did a complete new service on house. We replace their mast and existing meter can. We added a main disconnect so the homeowners in the future could have a transfer switch installed for a generator hook up and not back feed FPL.
