We've had clients call us while they're kitchen faucet is spraying water across the room. If you don't know already, follow these simple instructions to stop the water. Then call us.

1 Look under the sink for the two turnoff valves — one each for the hot and cold water faucets. You may have a built-in cabinet under the sink and the valves are generally located in it.

2 Grasp the valves with your hands — no tools are needed -- and turn them clockwise until they are tightly closed. Do not over-tighten the valves.

3 Twist the water faucets to the full on-position and run the water until it stops.

There is also a main valve to cut water off to the entire house, each home is different, so make sure to locate yours should an emergency arise. There is also a cut off valve located at the street where the water meter is located.

Finishing up some big jobs this week. Tile flooring in Corona, paint and repair for a client in Orange and windows and doors for their neighbor. Next week, fixing a messed up tile job for some new clients who didn't want to wait and hired someone else. Oops!
