The snow is finally gone and the nursery is being readied for regular opening on May 1, 2020. We have always been open by appointment only, so the required social distancing for covid-19 prevention ought to be easy. I will only be taking one appointment at a time, and please wear a mask. The tables will be going up this week, and the wintered over perennials cleaned up and prepared for sale. I will also have a small selection of veggie starts and herbs this year. I imagine many of you are as interested in growing your own food as I am. Stay safe. Happy gardening!

I started working on updating and upgrading my website today. It will take a few days for it to be ready to publish, but it should have a functional online store when I’m done. Stay tuned.

The nursery will be closed today while I sell plants at the Alaska Rock Garden Society Spring Plant Sale at Snowfire Gardens, 3379 Inlet Vista Circle in Wasilla. This sale is where you will find the rare and special plants that cannot be found anywhere else. Snowfire Garden is one of the most beautiful gardens in Alaska. It is worth a visit all by itself. Come get inspired from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm today!

There is still an hour to go for the Alaska Rock Garden Society Plant Sale at the Alaska Botanical Garden. Celebrate 25 years of the ABG, 20 years of the Alaska Rock Garden Society, 20 years for the rock garden at ABG, and my 57th birthday today.

Last chance tomatoes. $5 each. I have about 24 left, including 4 Wooly Kate's, plus Garden Gem, Garden Treasure, and Sunchocola. If they aren't gone by Thursday, they become compost. Get them today or tomorrow, while you still can. I'll be here from 3:00-6:00 today and tomorrow, no need for an appointment if you want tomatoes, unless you need me to hold them until next week.

Spring is coming. Seedlings are growing. For those interested, I will be selling tomatoes and dahlias at the Alaska Rock Garden Society booth at the Sears Mall in Anchorage on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Weather permitting I will try to have some alpine plants, too. Right now they are all buried in snow. This is only the second time in 20 years that I still have snow cover. Again, weather permitting, I plan to be available for appointments and open the nursery May 1.

Come visit my booth at the Palmer Midsummer Garden and Art Faire tomorrow, Saturday, July 9, from 10 am to 6 pm. I will have tables full of plants, including surplus annuals and veggies on discount, and some oddball varieties and perennials you won't find anywhere else.
