Before you book a Garage Door Repair, please read this..
We've been seeing more homeowners get caught by misleading online ads for Garage Door Repair. The ad looks local. The page looks official. The phone number looks normal.
Then someone shows up, charges an astronomical price, installs the wrong spring setup, leaves the door running worse than before, and disappears when the customer has a problem.
Then the homeowner calls a real local company to fix it, and now they're upset because they already paid once.
The part that bothers us the most....
A properly repaired Garage Door should not feel like a mystery. You should know who you called, what company is showing up, what parts are being replaced or installed, and why the repair costs what it costs.
Before you approve any Garage Door Repair, ask:
1. What is the actual company name?
Not just the name on the ad, the real company sending the technician.
2. Are they local?
A local looking Google ad does not always mean a local company.
3. What springs are they installing?
The spring size matters, and every door is different. Wrong spring combos can make the door heavy, unsafe, jerky, or damaging to your opener, most of the time its all of the above..
4. Is the door balanced after the repair?
A proper spring repair/replacement should leave the door properly balanced, not barely moving or flying open.
5. Are they giving you a written warranty?
Not a vague promise. A real warranty..
6. Do they pressure you immediately?
High pressure "you need this right now" sales tactics are a major RED FLAG.
