Canned cannellini beans heated on the stove top with a little oil, garlic powder, pepper, salt, and buffalo sauce make a great addition in a tortilla if you don’t have any meat! You can mush down the beans to make a thick paste. Cannellini beans have a tender texture with great flavor. I prefer their softness over other beans. This paste can also be added to quesadillas!

This wrap had beans, cheddar cheese, coleslaw, cilantro, yellow pepper, sweet onions, lettuce, buffalo sauce, and an avocado sauce. A bunch of random leftovers turned into the best wrap.

My great great aunt Alice must have really loved banana! I fondly remember her making the most memorable banana ice cream. I’ve never had anything like it. I haven’t had it in probably 20+ years, but I still think about it.

These banana muffins don’t look special, but they definitely are. This also happens to be her recipe. I was looking through recipes last night for a quick treat and came across this recipe. Simple ingredients and easy to whip up. Everyone back in the day used crisco when they were told butter was bad for you. Today I use butter and instead of making my own soured milk I use buttermilk. I did find this recipe makes batter for a little over 12 muffins. Be careful to not overfill your tins. You don’t want overspill and burning batter in your oven.

I learned a great deal about the importance of properly securing the layers with enough safety pins, avoiding fabric stretching while stitching, and using the right stitch length while finishing this quilt. This quilt isn’t perfect, as my mistakes led to the fabric puckering and distorting in many places. I was so disappointed in my mistakes after I caught them, but then I sat on the couch, laid the quilt on my lap, and noticed the mistakes weren’t as noticeable. I’m glad I made a quilt and not a wall hanging! I hope that my niece will look beyond the imperfections and still love it as much as I do. Each new project leads me to learn more, and that’s what’s important.

My brother, who has a serious sweet tooth like myself, was a little disappointed last month. I made an entire cake for my dad for his birthday. I shared about the cake recipe online the same day I delivered the cake. My brother saw the post and decided to nonchalantly pop in to my parents house on his way home from work hoping to get a few bites of cake. To his surprise, my dad didn't offer him any cake and it was no where to be seen. My dad clearly wasn't interested in sharing 😂 a few days later my brother told the story to all of us and we couldn't help but burst into laughter. My mom felt so bad that she forced my brother to eat the last piece of cake. This weekend I made another cake and delivered half of it to my brother first before bringing some to my parents. The delivery of sweet treats brings me so much joy.

Use brown butter instead of regular, add extra marshmallows at the end for marshmallow pockets, and top your homemade recipe crispy treats with flaky sea salt🤌🏼

You can swap rice crispy cereal for puffed rice as seen in the picture. The texture is a little different and you may need to add more marshmallows, but they are just as good.
