Decades ago I got to visit Normandy, the American Cemetery and Omaha beach in France. I had no idea how powerful and overwhelming it would be to me. But seeing the remnants of so much bloodshed and loss of life completely overtook me. Rows and rows of beautiful white crosses marking the resting places of so many sons and fathers extinguished too soon. So many happy memories that could have been made were all sacrificed so evil wouldn't reign. Thank you for giving your lives so that all of us now living could have a better life. Let's not waste it.
