June tip: get your supports in before your plants really take off!

Tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, and anything else that likes to sprawl are a whole lot easier to stake, cage, or trellis now than after they’ve already flopped over and started tangling together. A few minutes now saves a lot of frustration later.

What are you already tying up or trellising?

End-of-May reminder: June sneaks up fast!

If you’ve got garden projects, landscape cleanup, raised beds, lawn repair, or other outdoor work still sitting on the list, now’s a good time to get material lined up before summer hits and everybody starts chasing the same delivery spots.

Message us with your town and project and we’ll help get you pointed in the right direction.

Back in stock — for now.

Our 1 cu ft bags of organic compost are back and available for $12 per bag.

If you’ve been waiting to grab some for raised beds, gardens, containers, or general planting projects, now’s a good time to do it. We do have them back in, but stock is limited for now.

Stop in if you want to grab some before they’re gone again.

Be honest — how many “quick spring projects” have turned into way bigger jobs than you planned?

One bag of mulch turned into redoing every bed.
One raised bed turned into building a whole garden area.
One driveway patch turned into “well, now we might as well do the whole thing.”

We know we’re not the only ones who’ve seen that happen.

Tell us what project got bigger than expected.

One of the biggest gardening mistakes we see this time of year? Planting everything way too close together.

We get it — when plants are small, it never looks like enough. Then a few weeks later everything starts crowding in, airflow drops off, and people are wondering why things look stressed, tangled, or harder to keep up with.

What looks a little too spaced out in May usually looks just about right once summer hits.

Give your plants room now and you’ll be happier later.

What’s the one thing you always end up planting too much of?

05/20/2026

Raised bed reminder for May: once things start growing, don’t forget that the soil level in new beds can settle more than people expect.

That’s normal, especially in freshly filled beds. If your beds dropped after watering and time, it may be a good time to top them off before everything gets too far along.

People notice it every year.

Need material to top off your raised beds? Send us a message.

What spring project are you in the middle of right now?

Raised beds
Mulch
Garden prep
Driveway fix
Lawn work
Something else

We want to know what you're up to!

Drop your current project in the comments.

Still trying to decide if you need more material for the project? You probably do.

This is usually the point in May where one garden bed turns into three, one cleanup job turns into a full refresh, and people realize they’re going to need more soil, compost, mulch, or stone than they thought.

Better to line it up now than hit the wall mid-project.

Message us with what you’re working on and we’ll help you get set up.
