The project endured massive storm damage, vendor delays, and more than a few rounds of revisions. But with amazingly patient clients and the steady hand of Modern Landscaping, Inc., the completed project is a family friendly destination for the ages!

Voila! ✨ ‘Brand New Classic’ is complete! The last of the plants are in, the hummingbirds are visiting, and the project has been handed off to an amaaaazing fine gardening team.

There will, of course, be lingering issues and questions… and we are here for them! But for now we are basking in the glow of a beautiful creation, amazing clients, and a first-class team from beginning to end.

Welcome back, little guys!

Valley oak (Quercus lobata) is a Bay Area native that has a relatively short dormant period — sometimes dropping the last of its leaves in December then leafing right out again in January. This ensures it has plenty of foliage to survive an onslaught of moth caterpillars 🐛 , which typically hatch as our winter rains subside.

Most of us 😤 don’t love the idea of bugs eating our trees, but in this case the caterpillars are also the only food many baby birds 🐦 can and will eat.

Nature in the Bay is amazing! What will you notice today? 🧐
