Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the recent hurricanes. As we are a Florida based small business we truly feel for those small business, homes, and families that have been destroyed by these natural disasters. We were fortunate enough to have spent last week in Sarasota FL helping clean up and repair what we could. We are praying for a quick and safe recovery from south Florida all the way up to North Carolina and Tennessee. God Bless our first responders and all those who have sacrificed time and resources to aid those who are in desperate need! What the enemy intends for evil, Christ will use for good!

Red Cedar is one of our favorite species to work with! Why? Aside from its beautiful characteristics of grain pattern and color variation, it is also pest resistant due to a naturally occurring chemical called Thujone that helps to give cedar its wonderful scent. This chemical along with others are what also make cedar extremely rot-resistant, as it is known to easily last over 15 years in harsh exterior conditions without any sealer or protectant.
These natural qualities of Red Cedar are why we suggest this species for exterior applications like the porch ceiling and swing from some of our recent projects. Of course, we always like to seal our cedar for an even longer lasting finished product and to protect those beautiful colors from graying due to the elements.
