Getting some shade sails installed at The Nursery! 🌱☀️

One thing we’ve learned quickly is that our lot gets a LOT of Florida sunshine. While that’s great for many plants, some varieties need a little protection from the afternoon heat.

These new shade sails will give us more flexibility with the types of plants we can bring in and keep looking their best. Even with all the beautiful oak trees on the property, a little extra shade goes a long way.

Our goal is simple: offer a wider selection of healthy, high-quality plants and make sure they thrive while they’re here waiting for their new home.

🌹 Guess who got climbing roses in? ☺️🌹

And trust us… these won’t be here long.

We only got a handful of each variety:

🌅 Tangerine Skies – vibrant orange blooms that put on a show all season.

❤️ Red Eden – absolutely stunning deep red blooms. (Honestly, we’re trying hard not to take these home ourselves.)

🎆 Fourth of July – one of the most unique climbing roses out there with red-and-white striped blooms that stop people in their tracks.

🤍 White Dawn – classic, elegant white flowers with a beautiful climbing habit.

☀️ Garden Sun – cheerful golden-yellow blooms that brighten up any trellis, arbor, or fence.

Let’s talk Desert Roses 🌸 one of the many plants we just got in! Despite the name, Desert Roses aren’t roses at all—they’re actually succulents.

* ☀️ They absolutely love heat and full sun. The hotter it gets, the happier they are.
* 💧 Less is more! Overwatering is one of the few ways to hurt them.
* 🌺 They produce stunning blooms in shades of pink, red, white, and even bi-colors for months at a time.
* 🏜️ Their swollen trunk (called a caudex) stores water, giving them their unique sculptural appearance. (Think bonsai)
* 🪴 They make excellent patio and porch plants because they’re so drought tolerant.
* ✂️ They can be pruned and shaped into beautiful bonsai-like specimens.
* 🐌 They have very few pest and disease problems compared to many flowering plants.
* 🌱 Once established, they’re among the lowest-maintenance flowering plants you can own.
* ❄️ The one thing they don’t like is freezing temperatures. We recommend keeping them in a movable pot so they can be protected during cold weather.

We have them in pink, double pink, red, and double red.
A double flower has a higher number of petals giving it a ruffled appearance!
