I am standing outside of my distributor, when I hear 2 “swimming pool professionals” discussing the customer’s level of knowledge about their pool. Both of them were in agreement that the less the customer knows about their pool, the more money they can charge. I hung my head low thinking how much this industry has changed in 40 years. I always try to educate the pool owner and explain why the repair is needed or not needed. When did charging a customer based off of their knowledge vs. the actual repair become a thing to do? Do the job right the first time, back up what you do, and charge accordingly. That’s how you keep customers for life.
