🌳 We removed two trees today to make the new electronic messaging sign more visible!
PPHS ALUMNI and PARKERS PRAIRIE COMMUNITY:
We are in the process of raising money for a new electronic messaging sign to be installed at Parkers Prairie High School. It will be placed along the school parking lot south of the high school along Highway 29 and be visible to those traveling from the north and south on highway 29 and coming into town from the east on Highway 38. The sign will stand approximately 20ft tall, with a 5’x10’ LED messaging screen. (the screen reads the Pepsi logo on the demo, but will feature school and community events. No commercial advertising)
It is our hope to have it be used for advertising all types of Parkers Prairie School District activities, such as academic accomplishments, sports updates, Speech, Knowledge Bowl, FFA, Choir, Band, Prom, SnoDaze, FFA and other miscellaneous school announcements. The daily operation of this sign will be ran by members of the student body.
All initial costs for the sign will come from generous donors in the community. All funds raised will go directly towards the purchase of the sign. The cost of this project is estimated at about $100,000.
* * NO SCHOOL FUNDS WILL BE USED TO PAY FOR THE SIGN! * *
The goal is to have it up and running by the beginning of 2023-2024 school year.
Please consider giving whatever you can, it will be greatly appreciated. Please make your donation to West Central Initiative with “Parkers Prairie School Sign” in the memo. Checks can be sent to: West Central Initiative, PO Box 318 Fergus Falls, MN 56538-0318
