(Pt. 2) Sept. 15th- Well guys, it’s been a while!! August was a crazy month for me and I did not have a chance to make a post for you guys, so I definitely owe you an update! The garden is still doing beautiful, August things got a little big and out of control but now that summer is really winding down and with the weather starting to cool off, the plants are able to finish producing whatever they are growing. I harvested a bunch of eggplant, tomatoes, peppers, and beans today, and I’ve started putting in my fall garden plants. Soon, I plan on building cold frames for the winter and starting to create cover systems for the cold weather to be able to get the most out of the cool weather growing season. I’m super excited for the colder weather because I am a fall and winter person, and I think it’s gonna make it so much more enjoyable to garden once all those bugs are gone!!! Thank you guys for sticking with me and for all the support!

Thursday, July 13th- today I got in the garden and really pruned back my plants. I got rid of any extra growth that is taking energy away from the plant producing flowers, to optimize their fruiting! I also put some new pea, bean and cucumber plants in the ground. I watered nice and deeply, and got to pick some more goods! I’m finally getting some basil, it took my basil a little while to kick off but it’s growing. There are still lots of tomato’s out there, with more turning red every day. I need to work on my eggplants and zucchini, I notice they flower but then the flowers fall off, I may need to hand pollinate them to help get them going. I’ll post a video tomorrow to show how beautifully the garden is looking! 🍅🫑🥒🍇🍆🫛

I forgot to bring my phone outside tonight when I went in the garden, but we got another small harvest! We made a delicious meal with squash, peppers, onions, beans, mushrooms, broccoli, and tomatoes, sautéed over some spaghetti with lemon and butter!! I love enjoying my home grown goodies! (I can’t wait for more squash!)

More pictures from June 30th in the garden!

07/01/2023

Friday, June 30th- I haven’t been in the garden too much with all the rain we’ve been getting, so yesterday I had a good opportunity to get in there before it rains again! There are always so many things to do out there! I restaked my tomato’s, pruned off a bunch of leaves from plants that were just growing out of control and even picked a few goodies! I’m so thankful bugs haven’t been going to town on my plants, but something is still munching on my zucchini! I intend on doing maintenance this upcoming week by spraying plants with peroxide, aspirin, and some neem oil to keep those bugs away! It’s so exciting getting into peak garden season! 👩🏻‍🌾🍅🥦🫑
