The Rural Handyman hello my name is nick I grew up in Patterson, Mo. I attended school at clearwater, after school my wife and I moved to St.

louis where I held different jobs from auto mechanics, furniture moving and full home renovations including demo all the way through to finish work, I then began work for an ATM company where I thought I would spend the rest of my life and retire. well that all changed when mine and my wife's parents started needing more help. so I quit that job and moved back home to the piedmont area where we we

re close to both of our parents while living back in piedmont I took a job with a local cabinet shop and have been building custom cabinets ever since. but I have always enjoyed doing projects and helping others in the community whether that be lending a hand for a day or doing handyman projects for them. so I have decided that 2023 is my year and have decided to open myself up to provide handyman services to my community. I hope over time I can earn your business and your trust as a professional in this industry.

Well folks, here's the finished product β€” and WOW, did it turn out amazing! I'm sharing the full start-to-finish photo journey with this post, so for those of you who caught the earlier photos this week, stick around for the grand finale! I cannot tell you just how happy I am with how this one came together. This is definitely a showpiece. Not only does it look great, but the customer is absolutely thrilled β€” and at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. πŸ™Œ

Hey fans! πŸ™Œ

This one turned into quite the adventure β€” in the best way possible!

A customer reached out about some termite damage and wood rot under his home. Simple enough, right? Well once we got under there and started tearing out the damaged wood, we discovered his main center support beam had settled over the years β€” a little over 1.5 inches worth!

Now that might not sound like much but I could actually see it just by looking at his kitchen island β€” it had a noticeable tilt to it. Threw a level on it and sure enough, confirmed it.

So while we were already under there replacing the damaged structure, we went ahead and jacked up the entire support beam and brought everything back into level. By the time we were done that countertop was reading perfectly level. 😎

That's the thing about this kind of work β€” you never quite know what you're gonna find once you get into it, but whatever it is we're gonna handle it. No job stays "simple" for long and that's exactly what we're here for! πŸ’ͺ

Give us a call if you've got something that needs attention β€” you might be surprised what we find! πŸ˜„

Hey fans! πŸ™Œ

Here's a look at a semi-local church I've had the honor of doing some work for recently β€” and what a rewarding job it was!
We tackled quite a bit on this one. Their old schoolhouse building (we're talking 100 years old!) had frozen and burst CPVC lines and ruptured valves over the winter. The plumbing was just beyond reasonable repair so we ripped it all out and started fresh with PEX and new shutoffs, then rebuilt a toilet and made sure everything was solid before we left.

Over in their pavilion we swapped out the old outdoor fans for new 6-blade fans with remotes β€” and as a cool bonus we were able to program all 6 to a single remote! πŸŽ‰

We also replaced some damaged soffits and fascia, and last but definitely not least β€” we modernized all the lighting in their basement fellowship hall and classrooms from old fluorescent tubes to LED drop ceiling panels. That place is SO much brighter now and it looks fantastic.

I didn't get all the after photos I wanted β€” classic me πŸ˜„ β€” but trust me it looks good!

If your church, business, or home has a list of things that need attention, don't hesitate to reach out. We'd love to help! πŸ“ž

Hey Rural Handyman fans! πŸ‘‹
Well here I am again, neglecting the ol' page like it's a chore I keep putting off... ironic for a handyman I know πŸ˜„
A lot of what I stay busy with are the smaller everyday jobs that I never think to grab a picture of β€” lately that's been things like replacing golf cart batteries, diagnosing a bad cart charger, hanging some dusk to dawn lights... you get the idea. Nothing glamorous but somebody's gotta do it!
Anyway, after this little "yes I'm still alive" post I'm gonna share a couple more with some photos of the bigger recent projects, so stay tuned for those!
And don't forget β€” small jobs are our bread and butter but we can hang with the big stuff too. Bathrooms, drywall, paint, trim, and a whole lot more. Got something on your honey-do list that's been sitting there a little too long? 😏 Give us a call!

Alright folks, last post for tonight β€” and this one is special to me. Like, REALLY special. ❀️

After so much hard work and with the continued support of the most amazing customers a guy could ask for, I am PROUD to announce the newest addition to the team β€” a brand new 16 ft cargo trailer! πŸ˜™βœ¨

This thing has been a LONG time coming, and I honestly could not have made this happen without every single one of you who has trusted me with your projects. This is YOUR win as much as it is mine.

So what does this mean for YOU? πŸ€”

Simply put β€” better service, every single time. I now have ALL of my gear with me and ready to go. No more running around for tools. No more loading the truck wrong for the week and not having what I need when I need it. Whatever the job calls for β€” I've got it. πŸ’ͺ

I spent the last couple of days custom outfitting the inside with shelving to get everything organized just right β€” and I am absolutely LOVING it so far. πŸ˜„

To every past, current, and future customer β€” THANK YOU. From the bottom of my heart. You believed in my work, you spread the word, and because of YOU this business keeps growing. I don't take that lightly for a single second. πŸ™

Here's to bigger and better projects ahead!

Alright folks, this next one is a STORY. Grab your coffee. β˜•πŸ˜‚

A customer came to us needing a simple bathroom floor replacement at one of his rental properties. I took a look and said "Shoot, yeah I can do that!" Easy day, right??

WRONG. πŸ˜…

Let me tell you β€” when a "simple" job starts to spiral, it goes FAST. What started as a floor-only job quickly turned into a full bathroom gut job. We're talking:

πŸ”§ Leaking pipes
πŸͺ΅ A completely rotted out wall
🚽 A trashed toilet
🚿 The whole nine yards

This bathroom had it ALL β€” and not in a good way! πŸ˜‚

But you already know we don't back down from a challenge. πŸ’ͺ We got in there, handled business, and walked out leaving behind a brand new bathroom β€” new toilet, new vanity, solid new floors, new plumbing, and fresh new walls. We also knocked out some wall-face plumbing for a big wash tub and a washer/dryer hookup while we were at it. Might as well, right? πŸ˜„

Another happy customer and another job we're proud of! This is exactly why we love what we do β€” no matter what's hiding behind those walls, we've got you covered. πŸ™Œ

More posts still coming β€” we're on a roll! πŸš€

Told you we had more posts coming β€” and we meant it! πŸ˜„ Here's the next project we've been excited to share with you!

This one was all about the details β€” and wow, did they make a difference! ✨

We built a set of custom faux shutters for the front of this home, and let me tell you β€” they completely transformed the look! πŸͺŸπŸ  They really tied together all of the work this customer has had done over time and gave the exterior that finished, polished look it deserved.

But the STAR of this project? The custom crawlspace access door. 🚨

This door is 100% custom β€” completely handmade, incredibly solid, and built to last for MANY years to come. Oh, and it has a very important job... keeping the family dog out of the crawlspace! πŸ•πŸš« (Sorry pup, not today! πŸ˜‚)

This is exactly the kind of work we love β€” functional AND beautiful. Every detail matters!

Stay tuned, because we've still got more projects to show you. We weren't kidding when we said it's been a busy season! πŸ’ͺ⚑
