Your island should look intentional... every inch of it.

That means no awkward switches, no reaching under the sink, no workarounds that don't belong in a finished kitchen.

On an island, you can't just throw a garbage disposal switch on the wall. So at KCCNE, we use an air switch. Clean and Simple!

The details you don't notice are usually the ones we spent the most time on.

What's the one thing you wish you'd thought about sooner in your kitchen design?

Most kitchen islands have a seam running straight through the countertop, and once you see it... you can’t unsee it.

It’s one of the most common design oversights, and it’s completely avoidable!

At KCCNE, we made a deliberate choice for this Exeter kitchen design: keep the island cabinetry within the slab dimensions of the Fantasy Macaubas quartzite, so the stone could run edge to edge with zero interruption.

The best time to solve this problem is in the design phase. Not after the cabinets are built.

Hundreds of kitchens in, here’s what separates good from exceptional:

→ Full-height backsplash in the same material as the countertop
→ Veins matched at the seam so it reads as one unbroken slab
→ Outlet relocated under the cabinet with a low-profile plug strip

Most homeowners don’t know to ask for this... we’re here to give you the expertise you didn’t know you needed!

Your cabinets aren’t just storage. They’re the architecture of your kitchen.

What wood should you choose? Is two-tone still popular? What’s the difference between inset and overlay? What’s worth spending more on? The color. The material. The door style. The hardware. Each one is a decision most homeowners make once... and then live with for 15+ years.

These aren’t small decisions. They’re what give a kitchen that custom, built-in feel.

With so much to consider, we put all of it in one place for you. Everything we walk clients through in a first consultation: now in a guide you can read at your own pace. And if something catches your eye, book a free consult! We’ll walk you through exactly what would fit best in your space.

Go behind the remodel. 🔍✨

A beautiful kitchen isn’t one big decision. It’s dozens of small ones that come together to create a room you can’t stop showing off.

This Rhode Island kitchen features Fieldstone Cabinets in Marshmallow Cream paint on the perimeter, with a Natural Walnut Stain on the island to add some warmth to the space. Caesarstone Brillianza Quartz countertops run throughout with a pencil edge finish for a subtle, tailored detail — and the Sky Blue Hanoil tile backsplash pulls it all together to complete the space with a subtle splash of color.
