• 0-4 years of experience practicing in the field of architecture
• Excellent design ability
• Comfort with sketching and hand drawing
• Comfort working independently and in collaboration
• Proficiency in AutoCad, ArchiCad, Microsoft Office (Enscape, SketchUp, Photoshop, InDesign a plus)
• Keen interest in high performance and low carbon footprint buildings
• Keen interest in construction or design/build
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• A positive, roll up your sleeves and dive-in attitude
• A sense of humor

Responsibilities:

• Existing conditions measuring and drawing
• Permit history and tax card research
• Building code and zoning research
• Project feasibility analysis
• Working closely with a project designer/architect to draft and develop designs
• Working closely with a project designer/architect to prepare construction and permit documents
• Communications with builders and engineers
• Communications with Building and Planning Departments

Contact and Details:

• Our office is based in Peaks Island, ME, a 15-minute ferry ride from downtown Portland. We offer the option of some remote work, however candidates need to be able to regularly travel to job sites in the greater Portland area.
• The compensation range for this position is $22-28/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
• Comprehensive benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, education, and paid time off.
• Letters of interest, resume and portfolio should be sent to [Email hidden].
