Anybody can sell you a pretty rendering. Demo is where you find out what kind of bathroom you actually have.

Behind the walls, we find layered flooring, old leak damage, outdated plumbing, out-of-square framing...repairs from someone's remodel 20 years ago.

There's no such thing as a "standard bathroom" around here. Open a wall in a 1920s Colonial or a 1950s Cape and you'll find decades of old plumbing, layered flooring, crooked framing, or somebody's workaround from 30 years ago.

That doesn't make the project a problem. It means whoever's doing the work actually needs to know the kind of house they're standing in.
