*Hometown Highlights!!*

We got so many great photos from Amber, and we love how they capture so many different parts of life—family, fishing, fair, friendship and even a wedding!

One of our favorites is seeing a brother step up to mentor his big sister in the show ring. That’s what fair and livestock projects are all about: learning, growing and helping one another along the way.

Amber also shared some great fishing photos from family and friends. Thank you for letting us share a little glimpse into your lives with our community! These photos really embody what Hometown Highlights is all about!

🎣 SALMON LURES ARE COMING! 🎣

We’re adding a selection of salmon lures and hope to have them on the shelf sometime this week!

The new lineup includes:

• Blue Fox Classic Vibrax spinners
• Mepps Flying C spinners
• Silvertron Rockets

We selected a variety of bright, UV and metallic colors for bank and dock fishing. This is our first step into salmon tackle, so let us know what you’re fishing for and what else you’d like to see us carry!

🎣 You asked—we listened!

We’re constantly listening to what our customers want, and we do our best to bring those items into the store.

Several of you asked us to carry fishing rod covers, and they’re now here! We brought in Stick Jacket Fishing Rod Covers in several colors, with options for both spinning and casting rods.

We also now have Frozen II and Spider-Man tackle boxes for the younger anglers, along with new rod racks and holders to help keep everyone’s fishing gear organized.

Keep telling us what you’d like to see—we really do pay attention!

Addison purchased Ace from local breeder J & A Livestock, and then put in countless hours of work—and plenty of love—to help him become the powerhouse he was.

Miss Jersey had a great year at the Nevada County Fair, bringing home Champion Breeding Doe with her doe Daisy! 🏆

🐷 TRUE VALUE FENCE & RANCH HOMETOWN HIGHLIGHTS 🐷

Today we’re celebrating Cora and the hard work she put into her Nevada County Fair projects!

Her results included:

🏅 Jett, her market hog, placed 3rd in his class
🏅 Her breeding hog placed 7th in the registered breeding class

Showmanship didn’t go the way Cora had hoped. Sometimes an animal gets tired and cranky and simply won’t cooperate, no matter how much work the exhibitor has put in beforehand. That was the case for Cora this time, but one difficult trip into the ring doesn’t take away from the time, effort and dedication she gave her projects.

Cora knows that we often learn more from our setbacks than our successes, and she’s already excited to take what she learned and start again next year. That determination says far more about her than any ribbon ever could.

Keep working hard, Cora. We’re so very proud of you!
