Meet the Artemis III crew 🧑‍🚀🌕
Scheduled for launch in mid-2027, NASA's Artemis III mission will serve as the ultimate test run. The four-person crew will fly in the Orion spacecraft to meet and connect with Moon landers built by SpaceX and Blue Origin. This orbital flight will act as a rehearsal to test life support, communication networks, and next-generation spacesuits closer to home. The mission sets out to establish a baseline for the next return to the lunar surface on Artemis IV.

Deep holes in the sand are extremely dangerous . Please be aware of your safety on the beach.

Sand collapsed on a child who was digging a hole on Pensacola Beach this afternoon.

The incident happened around 2:15 p.m. in the 1600 block of Via de Luna Drive. Escambia County EMS, Fire Rescue, and Pensacola Beach Lifeguards responded.

According to Escambia County, care was provided on scene and no one was transported to the hospital.

Sand collapses can be extremely dangerous. Deep holes can cave in without warning, trapping a person under heavy sand and making rescue difficult. Tragically, both children and adults have died in sand collapse incidents at beaches around the country.

Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

We figure with all the negativity in the world in light of recent events maybe it’s time we shed some light and positivity on some of mother natures most beautiful creatures!

We typically don’t share things like this…..

Cause it goes both ways…..

But we gonna do it…. Cause we love our “pets” 😂

That’s right yall this is a shark post!!!!!!’

Due to the internet and social media, it’s no secret every summer these big kitty cats take up residency here near the pier.

There is an entire research program being done on their migration patterns, more on that later…..

These animals are beautiful.

But they are wild animals and this is their home, and we have to respect them…..

LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!!!

Remember, shark fishing just isn’t prohibited on the pier, it is a county ordinance and is fineable.

As per a quick google search, we are #3 in the world on the largest aggregations of Tiger Sharks in the world. Probably #1 being accessible by land…..

Now back to the research,

Every June, a team made up of multiple agencies gather in boats near the pier and catch and tag these beautiful animals. Nearly 40 animals are tagged.

The pier has devices on the pilings that when the animal swims by, and it’s not just tigers it’s tarpon, Cobia, rays, turtles, dolphins, whales anything with these tags it will register. It’s a world wide database.

This helps researchers track migration patterns and gives valuable data.

We know society gives these animals a bad rep as man eaters, violent blood thirsty killers. But the local statistics with these specific species do not support that. These animals are not here for us.

These toothy critters are here to feed on the naturally dying off bait fish, much like all the other species are such as Tarpon.

Now with that being said, you should always be diligent when you are in their home…..

We love our tigers, they are absolutely breathtaking to watch and they are the apex of mother natures predators. They need to be respected and admired from afar….. and by afar we mean 30ft up on the pier deck 😎 (shameless business plug 🤪)

Now, for those of you that come on vacation that want to experience catching these animals and doing it the ethical and legal way….. book a charter!!!!!

20,000+ LIONFISH: More than 20,000 lionfish were pulled from the Gulf during the 2026 Emerald Coast Open, as over 100 divers from across the United States worked to thin the invasive species from the area’s vast artificial reef system.

The tournament, which has drawn divers to Destin-Fort Walton Beach since 2019, included a pre-tournament harvest of 5,734 lionfish followed by a two-day main event that yielded 15,018 — bringing the total to 20,752. Lionfish were measured and weighed behind AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar, with the nearby Lionfish Festival hosted by HarborWalk Village.

Divers competed in teams for more than $100,000 in cash and gear prizes provided by event partners across categories including smallest lionfish, largest lionfish and most lionfish caught.
