Meet Sydney, our summer intern! ☀️

Originally from Navarre and currently studying Architecture at the University of Florida, Sydney is spending her summer exploring the many paths the industry has to offer.

Growing up around construction through her family’s HVAC business, she’s had a front-row seat to the building process for years. That exposure sparked an interest in design, development, and the spaces where people live, work, and gather.

This summer, she’s gaining hands-on experience, learning from our team, and discovering where her passion for architecture may lead next.

We’re excited to have her with us and can’t wait to see all she accomplishes! 👏🏼

A farmhouse built for a new family, set in a coastal area better known for beaches and salt air.

This project with the owner was a thoughtful process that took time but stayed on course from start to finish. Every step moved the vision forward, with a clear focus on getting it right rather than rushing the outcome.

The result is a home that feels grounded, warm, and right at home in its setting. A farmhouse spirit brought into a coastal community, and a project that came together exactly as hoped. 🤍

Ever wonder how an 1885 historic home stands the test of time? 🏡

Down in the lower part of the historic district, this beauty has survived thanks to some incredibly smart original design, like raising it high off the ground!

But the real magic is balancing that history with modern needs.

We were able to design a brand-new addition featuring a carport and mother-in-law suite that complements the original structure perfectly.

Preserving history while making it livable for today, that’s what it’s all about!

A 2025 graduate of University of Oklahoma, Madison recently made the move from her home state of Colorado to Pensacola, and we’re grateful her path led her here.

She brings a fresh perspective, a strong foundation in architecture, and a heart for meaningful design. We’re excited to see all she’ll accomplish as part of the DSA team.

There’s a reason old homes were built to last.

At the Lola Lee house, we’re always looking beyond what’s being torn out and focusing on what can still be saved.

One standout is heart pine lumber: dense, durable wood that was used in true craftsmanship days and is often stronger than what’s available today.

Alongside that, the original concrete steps with their timeless sidewalls are another favorite worth preserving.

Good design isn’t always about starting over. Sometimes it’s about recognizing what’s already worth keeping. ❤️

Our partnership with the owners of WinSupply brought together a clean, welcoming showroom and a highly efficient warehouse. 💡

Our goal was to design a showroom that serves both the customer experience and day-to-day operations without missing a beat.

Great design holds up over time, and this space is still doing exactly what it was built to do.

Grateful for the trust back then, and for the team at Hanto & Clarke General Contractors who helped bring it across the finish line.

Palafox Street is open again, and it’s exciting to see downtown fully come back to life.

At DSA, it’s especially meaningful to celebrate the reopening of a street where we’ve had the opportunity to help shape spaces for local businesses, restaurants, and renovations over the years.

Watching these doors reopen, sidewalks fill back up, and businesses thrive again is a reminder that good design is always about people and community first.

A huge thank you to the construction crews, city leadership, and local business owners who pushed through the temporary inconvenience to invest in the future of downtown Pensacola.

Welcome back, Palafox. The heart of downtown is beating strong. 👏

This flag isn’t decoration, but remembrance.

It’s the reminder that the freedom we live in came at a cost most of us will never fully understand.

Today is for honoring the ones who didn’t make it home, and the families who carry that loss every day. Not just the stories we know, but the names we may never hear.

Let it wave a little higher today. Let it mean a little more. ❤️
