Now, my favorite part...what did you get at the market today? We got a lot of carbs and plants for the garden, plus these sweet little plushies. kaitskrochet made these adorable forest/crystal creatures! I'm also very excited to try this new goat's milk soap from The Leaf of Faith Collective ! I haven't tried all our sourdough goodies but the mocha chip cookies and orange cranberry scones from Butter & Bliss Sourdough Microbakery were out of this world!
Big shout out to Pine Hollow Nursery and for my gorgeous new plants! Everyone was SO kind and patient dealing with the rain for the first 3 hours of our day. It ended up being a gorgeous day and you guys were so kind to show up for our vendors. Your support means the world to all of us. I had to include a picture of my new friend and fellow fiber lover who brought home 3 skeins of my handspun!💙
We are especially grateful that God sent the rain! 🌧

We are doing our best to utilize all the goodness God has blessed us with on our land. We will have a Wildflower Digestive Tonic to get those gastric juices flowing. The bitterness from the wild chicory plus the soothing influences of the rose and magnolia make a nice aid before you eat.

As a sufferer of headaches, it's been a struggle to find a natural remedy for them. We have a tea that works well, but sometimes we need something quicker. Instead of buying my celery seed tincture, I just purchased organic celery seed in bulk and made a glycerite. No alcohol, so safe for littles to consume.

Lastly, I finally made a Perdido Tea Blend! We have SO much that grows naturally on our land that we can use for medicine and just shear enjoyment. This blend features yaupon holly (caffeine fix), wild blueberry leaves, magnolia petals, gotu kola, candy root flowers, and blackberry flowers. It's like a mild, non-bitter green tea with soft floral notes. It doesn't even need a sweetener. 💚

We hope to see everyone at the market tomorrow! We will have loads of plant vendors, goats to cuddle, soaps to smell, crocheted toys to squish, baked goods to bring home, and Puerto Rican food to taste.

Another beautiful Honeybee and Me Class! If you missed this one, make sure to subscribe to our emails to get updates on future dates. The next class will be in October. Thank you so much to Cher M. Clary with Beachin' Bees Apiary for being our guest speaker! She even gave the kids their own native sunflowers to take home! We enjoyed a spiced honeycake with fresh milled flour, local honey, eggs from our girls, homemade vanilla, and milk from . The kids loved the herbal nettle tea, our custom blend 'The Meadow' from . They got a kick out of the fact that we created the tea for a frog and her tea party! I will have the tea restocked to purchase at our market this Saturday!
To make our classes easier to get reimbursed, for those of you who have the PEP scholarship, we are teaming up with Grow Creative Studio to make reimbursements easier for our weaving class in the fall. We are also offering a 1 day adult basket making class in June at her studio!
Thank you all so much for supporting our little Homestead. It really helps our family, and is really such a joy.
