Follow along with us as we grow a container garden! I am planning on getting started in mid April by starting a Stupice Tomato plant. Just a small demonstration of a simple container garden. Plants will be started in the pot they will remain in for the entire summer so most pots wont have seeds planted in them until May. My intention is to bypass the transplanting and the problems that can arise from it. I hear it all the time " I wish I could grow a garden but I just don't have the room" or " I don't know anyone with a tiller to work up the ground" Well here my friends is my solution! I will update the progress weekly so plan on following along!

Choosing a suitable garden location.... In the 10 years I have lived in this location I had never seen any flooding past the spring snow melt. This photo was taken June 24th here in Michigan. I think its as important to share our mistakes as it is our success. The strip of water is only 15-20 feet wide. We have since moved it to the left 20 feet. The water was 12-15 inches deep and lasted for a little over 3 days. At the far right is Polar baby tomatoes in mound. To the left of them was BC-2 zucchini, Golden zucchini, and Morden early cucumbers. The 2 rows up the middle was Mammoth grey stripe sunflowers. To the left of the sunflowers were New ace peppers and more BC-2 zucchini. At the far left and never underwater was a row of Cosmonaut Volkov tomatoes. It is important to note that this had no effect on the plants. After the water quit flowing it dried up quickly and we noticed no ill effects on any of the fruits produced.
