We had a great time today hosting the Williamstown Town & Country 4H club. The kids got a behind-the-scenes look at how we do what we do, plus an opportunity to test out the Stone Market scale. The whole group came in at 2,950 pounds!

Back in 1958, our founder D.A. Hoerr incorporated his then 32‑year‑old business with three of his sons: Jim, John, and Rudy. He named it D.A. Hoerr & Sons, Inc. Over the years, our signage and billboards proudly read “D.A. Hoerr and Sons,” but eventually we got into the habit of answering the phone with simply, “Hoerr Nursery.”

Eventually, around 2006, we made it official and changed the name to match what a lot of folks had been calling us for years. It's the same family legacy, but with a name that says exactly what we are: Hoerr Nursery.

'Tis the season for planting squash, but if you've lost plants to squash borers before, you know how fast they go from great to gonners. The simplest trick to avoid heartbreak is plain old aluminum foil, wrapped around the squash stem to help keep borers out. And if you’re just getting started, we’ve got summer and winter squash in four-packs for $2.99 each & 4" plants for $3.99 each.

Once-in-a-Century Sale: 10 Select Perennials for $100🥳

We've been in the nursery business since 1926, through droughts, late frosts, and heatwaves, and we think that's something worth celebrating!

From June 12th through the 19th, retail customers can choose any 10 perennials from our homegrown sale selection for $100. Every perennial included in the sale was chosen to perform well here and come back reliably, so you get good looks, easy care, and a garden that keeps showing off season after season. It's our way of sharing what we've learned over the past hundred years.
