When wandering our grounds, feel free to stop and visit our newest team member, Russ.
Russ is a 40-year-old Japanese Maple that we rescued and welcomed to his new home here at Grow. After decades of growing, twisting, and developing the kind of character that only time can create, heās now settled in and enjoying all the attention from visitors.
These days heās busy providing shade, showing off his incredible branching structure, and accepting compliments from everyone who walks by.
What makes Russ especially fun is that we also have young Japanese Maples available for you here at the Grow. While they may look small and unassuming now, Russ offers a glimpse of what they can become over a lifetime. With patience, proper care, and a few decades of growing, they can develop the same graceful form, sculptural branching, and breathtaking presence that make mature Japanese Maples so treasured.
Stop by and meet Russ, the wise old gentleman of Grow, and a living preview of what a Japanese Maple can become while also teaching us a thing or two about growing old gracefully.
