After two weeks in Washington DC for a private project with the great PHX VeroMetal, all we can show you are a few pictures from the storm last night and a couple of good places to eat.

Believe me when I say this was one hell of a project with verometalna. Good work, good people, and one we won’t soon forget. It’s been wild of a couple weeks but now the road turns west and home is calling.

I’ll be in Amarillo by mornin back to where the sky gets bigger, time feels a little slower and the sunsets are familiar.

We’re converting this door from the existing mortise lockset to a roller catch and mortise deadbolt. The original mortise was a different size, so I filled the old latch and bolt locations with maple and epoxy, then reshaped the pocket to fit the new hardware.

Next is recessing the faceplate flush and drilling for the new deadbolt position. Once the door is back on-site, I’ll rework the jamb to accept the new hardware. Most houses have a statement piece. Before too long, this entire house will be the statement.
