I have a variety of hostas and companion plants and Memra and friends have LOTS of plants too for sale!!

My friend Julie and I potted up lots of hostas today in preparation for the Hosta Society of North Alabamas Hosta sale on May 9th from 8-12noon at the Madison County Farmers Market in Huntsville Alabama

Just over a month until our 20TH annual hosta sale!! The largest sale of its kind in the area! There will be hundreds of hard to find, unusual, and rare hostas to purchase, as well as companion plants and the return of Jen’s Farm Maples with some wonderful varieties of maples to add to your garden!

Hello, I'm the Wildlife in your backyard 🌿

Tomorrow is World Wildlife Day.
They'll talk about pandas and elephants and tigers.
They should.

But I wanted to remind you:
I'm here too.

I'm the squirrel you see every morning.
I'm the cardinal at your feeder.
I'm the rabbit hiding in your bushes.
I'm the hawk circling overhead.
I'm the owl you hear but never see.

I'm the skunk you smell at 2am.
I'm the raccoon testing your trash can.
I'm the deer eating your hostas.
I'm the coyote passing through at dawn.

I'm not exotic.
I'm not endangered (well, some of us are).
I'm not in a documentary.

But I'm here.
Surviving alongside you.
Adapting to your world.
Existing in the margins you leave me.

Tomorrow, when they talk about saving wildlife:
Remember that wildlife includes your neighborhood.
The salvation starts outside your door.

I don't need you to fly to Africa.
I need you to leave the brush pile.
Put up a nest box.
Drive a little slower at dusk.
Let the dandelions bloom.

I'm not far away.
I'm right here.
Waiting for you to notice.

I tried to post these the other day but via hughesnet they wouldn’t post. We now have starlink and wow what a difference!

I didn’t take the time to link tags with the variety but all of these have tags. It was so 🥶 I did good to get photos!

Love these first blooms of the year. Last count there was about 70+ varieties out there. Some will bloom later than others 🌺
