ExploreFall.com is out with their 2026 Fall Foliage Stress Analysis.
Ongoing drought & dry soils across northern Wisconsin may lead to an earlier & muted emergence of Fall Foliage. The soil is a little dry across southern Wisconsin. That, combined with warmer than average conditions, could lead to a slightly later emergence of Fall colors. Remember that high wind & heavy rain can always throw a wrench in Fall colors!

On average, peak Fall colors arrive in central & northern Wisconsin during early-mid October. Milwaukee, Madison & southern Wisconsin see peak colors from late October to early November.
