Corinthian Ave Residence is a single-family residence for a private owner in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia. The project was designed before the pandemic, and has taken some time to reach completion. We are pleased to see that it is finally complete, and are happy to share these images. The palette of materials includes brick, limestone, and a pale gray shou sugi ban (charred wood) rainscreen siding.

Dickinson Ave Development: We recently shared images of a single-family residence we designed for a site on Dickinson Street, in the Passyunk Square section of the city. These images show both the single-family residence and a small three-unit apartment that will complete this development. This project is situated on a challenging lot, and has been interesting to develop. We hope to have zoning approval for both projects approved in the coming weeks.

Fraternal Twins: We are happy to share some schematic images of a pair of rowhouses we are designing for two adjoining sites here in Fishtown. The sites differ in size and shape, with one being a small rectangle, and the other a large trapezoid. The end trapezoidal lot allows for an interesting corner entry, with views to the stair tower within. With both designs, we are experimenting with similar materials and textures. We are happy to report that this single-family residence we designed for 1122 Dickinson Street, in the Passyunk Square section of the city, has been approved by the neighborhood association and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. We look forward to seeing construction commence in the spring.

This post shows recent renderings of Cedar Avenue Apartments, a project that is proposed in West Philadelphia. This project includes a renovation, overbuild and addition to an existing duplex structure. When completed, the project will include a total of 7 apartments. Our goal in approaching this design was to create an addition that is of our time, while remaining respectful to the scale and character of the existing structure and context. Thompson Street Flats: Located in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, this project was completed in 2019 and includes five apartments and a retail space at the Northeast corner. Though this project is currently complete, we used this project as a test to better understand the capabilities of the new rendering program we are working with. On the Boards: Sansom Street Flats. The attached images show a typical 1-Bedroom apartment in the Sansom Street Flats project. We are excited to share schematic design images of ‘Baltimore Flats’, a mixed-use project we are designing in West Philadelphia. The 16,000 gsf structure includes 14 apartments, a commercial base, and common roof deck to allow views of the city skyline. On the Boards: Dickinson Residence. The images attached are from a feasibility study we are working on for a very unusual triangular lot in South Philadelphia. This preliminary design proposes a gated entry courtyard off the main street, allowing the living spaces above to have views into the courtyard. The program consists of a three bedrooms, three and a half baths, a home office, two-car garage, and a sunroom and roof deck with views of the city skyline.
