So I wanted to donate my time and money cleaning up both Umbria Street and Paoli Avenue. A neighbor from Paoli Avenue got upset with us for staging some debris across from her house (that would be cleaned and disposed of at my expense) instead of asking us what we were doing. As you know the new apartments were just built here and many tenants park on Paoli Avenue now. So, I go to the 5th district in hopes of getting some no parking signs for this coming Saturday to clean up everything including all the trash and leaves, branches and concrete (dumped illegally) and the desk officer tells me I need to pay for a permit from the city to get these signs. My question is for other volunteer groups, do you pull permits for no parking signs to do your volunteer work or is there someone else from the city who handles this type of request. This job would literally take 2 hours if I had these signs. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
