Jen Roder - Jen the Carpenter I have been a carpenter since 1998 and was a jeweler before that. I have a BA in fine arts. My fine art skills are useful in my detailed work as a carpenter.

The focus of my work has primarily been on old houses and I especially enjoy historic preservation. I am very knowledgable about the workings of older homes. I enjoy custom projects and using reclaimed materials including making custom cabinets. Look through my photos for a variety of work that I have done. This is a wall mounted small box of drawers. The drawer fronts are Alaskan Cedar from a tree that was growing in West Philly, and the box is very old cherry. All solid wood.
I built it so it can be shipped safely in this styrofoam box. Price $300-$400 sliding scale. 9” x 7” x 6” deep.

This is a homemade power-feeder that I bought off of the internet. It is made with purple rollerskate wheels and wooden gears. It is powered by a brushless drill which can go very slowly and won't heat up. The future is in the interconnectedness and creativity of this world. The one thing we can count on is ourselves. Go dream, be curious and get 'er done!

Little cherrywood box with Sycamore drawer faces. A friend of mine gave me some old sycamore branches they saved for years. They are from a big old tree that was painted by Andrew Wyeth. The tree still stands on the edge on the Brandywine Battlefield. The painting is called "Pennsylvania Landscape".
