I created a 7-foot-tall sculpture of Clarence Darrow that stands in Dayton, Tennessee, commemorating the famed attorney and defender of civil liberties.
After completing the monument, I also produced a portrait bust based on the sculpture. Here I am at Laran Bronze Foundry with the wax version of the bust—a critical stage in the lost-wax casting process before it is transformed into bronze.
It is always fascinating to see a sculpture evolve from clay, to wax, to bronze, each step bringing the work closer to its final form.
