Two big events happening in Chestnut Hill the next few days. The Chestnut Hill Home and Garden show and the Philadelphia Botanical Sketching Workshop at Laurel Hill Gardens. We can’t wait to see the crowds enjoying the best neighborhood in Philly this Sunday May 3rd. And on May 5th what the workshop students decide to sketch in the garden under the tutelage of the great botanical illustrator Robby Schlesinger. It’s Cinco de Mayo, so Bring Your Own Margarita.

Trees and shrubs are pretty resilient, but….. if you’re able, try gently shaking some of that heavy snow off as best you can. We hope to see you all in spring, but hopefully not to buy new trees and shrubs because of winter snow damage. Stay safe shoveling and remember to bend at the knees, take plenty of breaks and hydrate! See you all soon.

First Friday tonight! Come warm yourself by the fire, see how our trees measure up and check out our multitude of wreaths. Trees are going faster than expected. We have plenty left of the 4-5’, 5-6’, 6-7’, 7-8’, Not many of the 8-9’, (16) of the 9-10’ and only (3) of the 10-12’. Wreaths and garland galore. Bring your friends and family out for a great evening flaneur!
