🌲 Property Line Cleanup & Dead Pine Removal

Our team completed a project involving the removal of dead and structurally compromised pines along a property line, along with the mitigation of dense invasive vegetation including honeysuckle and vine overgrowth. These conditions created elevated risk due to structural defects, canopy dieback, and restricted root zone airflow.

✔️ Why This Work Was Necessary
• Dead pines exhibited advanced dieback and structural instability
• Vines were causing crown suppression and trapping moisture, accelerating decay
• Overgrowth limited visibility of hazardous defects at the trunk and root flare
• Removing compromised trees prevents secondary pest infestation and pathogenic spread

🌳 Crane-Assisted Pin Oak Removal – Safe, Smart & Professional
The team at Above The Branch Tree & Shrub Experts completed a full crane-assisted removal of a large pin oak tree that was exhibiting significant die-back and safety concerns in a assisted living facility in the Philadelphia region.

📍 Service Area: Philadelphia + Bucks County, Montgomery County, Lehigh Valley, Berks County
🔧 What We Did:
• Utilized a certified 45 ton mobile crane to safely lift out large trunk sections, minimizing impact to the surrounding lawn and landscaping.
• Performed careful dismantling of the remaining crown and trunk above power‐lines and adjacent structures.
• Cleaned up all debris, logged, and chipped the material for removal, leaving the site safe, clean and leveled.

🧐 Why We Removed The Tree:
The tree in question was a Pin Oak showing advanced die-back a condition where branches progressively die from the tips inward. Some of the key factors in pin oak decline include:
• Poor site conditions: the species naturally prefers acidic, moist soils but struggles in high pH or poorly drained soils.
• Stressors such as drought, compaction or flooding can predispose the tree to secondary problems.
• Opportunistic fungal pathogens such as can invade weakened oak trees and cause rapid decline.

Given the extent of the die-back and the risk the tree posed, removal was the safest, most responsible choice.

💡 Why Use a Crane?
Removing a large, compromised tree near buildings, utilities or hardscape demands precision and minimal disturbance. The crane allowed us to lift large sections vertically, reducing the footprint of equipment, limiting root zone damage, and keeping your landscape in great shape.
