Addendum to the last post: next week in addition to the garden I'll be offering fresh roasted organic coffee, whole bean at $20/lb. If you've never had fresh roasted coffee (the beans will still be warm at the market) you've never had coffee before - it's that good. Currently I have organic Peruvian green coffee beans, but if you prefer a different origin let me know and I can easily accommodate. But let me know if you're interested so I know I have enough coffee (but not too much - fresh roasted is the point) to bring. ❤️

Before you enjoy the latest pics from the garden, I'm very happy to announce the moment I've been waiting for for almost two years on this homestead has arrived: the garden has finally produced enough product to bring to the farmers market. Here is what I have to offer this week. Excepting peppers these are sold prepackaged in one pound bags.

• Brussel sprouts greens (not the actual sprouts; the greens from the plant. These have a mild bitterness to them, I've been enjoying them in my scrambled eggs in the mornings) $5
• Collard greens $8
• Mustard greens $8
• Komatsuna $8
• Siberian kale $8
• Purple bok choy $8
• Peppers $4

Pepper varieties: Poblano, Anaheim, banana, purple beauty bell, and California wonder bell. Mix and match if you like.

Not far off is Red Russian kale, which has pretty much the same flavor as Siberian but different texture (frillier leaves), and I imagine that in coming weeks there will be broccoli. I've never grown cabbage before so I don't know how far off these are, but I planted a lot. Spinach is struggling, I'm going to plant more, see what happens. To be honest I've failed with spinach probably more than any other vegetable.

Hope to see y'all tomorrow starting at 1pm. It's across the street from PJs Coffee between the railroad tracks and the chamber of commerce building on hwy 11. ❤️

Planted the final bed of Asian greens and brassicas today. I keep saying it's almost done but I'm still not caught up. Next week I'll finish off the veggies with spinach. Gerrmination of what I've planted so far is good and everything is doing well. If it all continues to progress I should be able to bring it to the market. I got some nice looking dragon fruit plants from a friend, now I gotta figure out how not to kill them.

As much as I need to bang this garden out and finish it, the reality is after the summer I'm always burnt out to some extent, this year is no exception. It takes a good 4-5 hours to properly prepare a bed, especially when it's overrun with weeds, and i'm just mentally exhausted. So this week, one more bed. Next week I'll try to get two more, the week after, a bed of spinach, and then probably second week in November, finish it off with garlic. IF...if...everything I'm planting does well, and my gut says it should, I'll be bringing product to the farmers market in a couple of months:

Kale
Spinach
Various Asian greens
Green beans
Mustard Greens
Collards

I've also planted cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and purple bok choy. which will take longer to be harvestable.

The bugs keep ravaging my green beans, but I'm gonna keep planting them until they grow and produce. This "provider" variety has produced massive crops for me in the past, and hopefully now that the weather is cooling (next week, finally) and the humidity has subsided, they'll finally get going. Another weekend cut short due to family obligations - it is what it is - but I got one full bed prepped and planted: red Russian kale, Siberian kale, purple bok choy, cabbage, broccoli, collards, and mustard greens. I have 4 beds available for planting, hopefully 2 more next week, and then one bed of spinach in October and a bed of garlic in November.
