Social media facades would prefer if I maintain an image of the perfect grower with the greenest of thumbs, so I naturally tend to only share with you the successes of my planting adventures. But today, I share a wonderfully, disastrous story. You see, it all started with some string beans...
I planted a bed and they were growing exceptionally well. So well, in fact, that they caught the eye of the local deer population. And they couldn't have been happier to have found this all you can eat buffet! A relocation of some prickly bo**er bushes to protect those last bean plants served as a temporary deterrent while we procured a more permanent solution.
But life still had lessons to teach me. The frost came to remind me that bean plants are NOT, in fact, frost proof. Whoops. But it's ok! Just a little leaf damage. Nothing worse than what the deer had done thus far. This morning's crop assessment brought a surprise! I'm growing tumbleweeds! And they are some GOOD looking ones, if I do say so myself! Probably the best tumbleweed grower this side of the Mississippi!
