We want your thoughts and opinions! The public is invited to take part in a design workshop that will impact future development along Hwy 127 (Rankin Ave) between Cherry Street and Hwy 111.

The workshop will be held at Dunlap City Hall on Monday, November 27 at 5:00 PM.

The public is also encouraged to participate in a community survey on this future development. The survey can be found at:

The information received from the survey and workshop will then be compiled and the public is also invited to attend a presentation of the information on Thursday, November 30 at 5:00 PM. This meeting will also be held at Dunlap City Hall.

The City of Scottsboro Alabama in partnership with Farmer Morgan - Planning, Design & Construction is conducting a Community Engagement Design Charette July 31, 2023- August 3, 2023 to develop a Redevelopment Plan for the Willow Street Corridor in Downtown Scottsboro! This Redevelopment Plan is part of the EPA Grant the City was awarded to do environmental assessments.

The Charette will take place at the Scottsboro Water, Sewer, and Gas Board's Operation Center located at 519 East Willow Street, Scottsboro, AL 35768.

Below is the schedule for public input for the Charrette. We would also like to encourage you to take this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/WillowStreet to help us envision the future of our downtown. You can also use the QR code provided to take the survey.

Charette Schedule:
Monday (7/31)- Opening Presentation & Visioning Workshop 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm (public meeting)

Tuesday (8/1)- Doors Open for Community Input 3:00 pm- 5:00 pm

Wednesday (8/2)- Doors Open for Community Input 9:00 am-11:00 am

Thursday (8/3)- Closing Presentation & Pinup Review 5:00 pm- 6:00 pm (public meeting)

ATHENS, Ala.- The old Pilgrim's Pride chicken plant has been torn down and it may soon be a park. City leaders want to hear from neighbors about what should be built on Pryor Street. After years of negotiations, phone calls and heavy lifting, the old Pilgrim's Pride chicken plant in Athens is gone.
